Located 6kms from Corfu town, it is a historic location where the Turkish fleet landed under the orders of Suleiman the magnificent and where the Venetians where located. The name of the area is based on a kind of fish and it used to be a fishing village where this kind of fish was abundant.

You can see the Venetian Shipyards, the beach, and the bay.

It is one of the most well-known beaches on the island where you can find beach chairs, umbrellas and do a number of sea sports.

There is a great number of visitors since there are many restaurants, cafes, bars, and clubs.
